cloud_off Hosting: on your own premises (on-premises) vs. cloud

Klacks runs on your own infrastructure via Docker. With a local AI model, HR data never leaves your premises. You decide where your data is stored and have full access to the database at any time.

code License: open source vs. proprietary

Klacks can be used under the AGPL-3.0 without license fees — no subscription, no per-employee charges. You can view the code, customise it and host it yourself; anyone who makes a modified version available to others via a network must disclose its source code. This way you keep control over code and data.

psychology AI assistant: free choice of provider and model

Klacksy works with OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral, DeepSeek and Azure – and with any other provider with an OpenAI-compatible interface, including locally hosted models. You add providers and models yourself.

translate Languages: 25 supported

Klacks supports 25 languages (4 core + 21 plugins). This makes Klacks suitable for international teams too.

public Compliance: 30 countries pre-configured

Klacks comes with public holiday calendars and working time regulations for 30 countries. Numerous customisable rule parameters allow for industry-specific adjustments.

Klacks provides templates for home care, hospitals, security, facilities management, logistics and the hotel and catering industries. With Klacksy, you can also configure any industry you like.

warning What Klacks can’t do

We’re not exaggerating. Here are the limits of Klacks:

info No biometrics or fingerprint recognition — Klacks plans based on qualifications and availability, not on biometric presence.
info No live GPS tracking — Klacks optimises routes proactively, but does not track staff locations in real time.
info No time clock / kiosk / NFC terminal — Klacks is about planning, not time recording.
info No proper payroll accounting — Klacks exports formatted data (e.g. DATEV), but does not process payroll.
info Warnings only by default — Klacks issues warnings in the event of breaches of working time regulations; you can enable a block mode per rule type. It applies in automatic planning (planning assistant, proposals, absence cover); manual planning continues to only warn.

Biometrics and live GPS can in principle be added through an extension (plugin). Today there is no ready-made extension for this yet.
