Who is behind Klacks
Klacks is developed by Heribert Gasparoli in Liebefeld (Switzerland) and is open source under the GNU AGPL-3.0.
The founder
As a developer, Heribert Gasparoli wrote a personnel scheduling program for 3500 to 4000 employees for a large security company in Switzerland years ago.
Later, his wife needed extensive care at home. He noticed that the home care service did very good nursing work but was hopelessly overwhelmed by the scheduling.
That is how he decided to make his knowledge available to everyone, so that a task as important as workforce scheduling can be solved properly. Today he puts his whole heart into Klacks.
He is responsible for everything that is said and done under the name Klacks. He works without pay. Income from setup, support and commercial licenses is meant to cover costs, not to make a profit.
A company that works with AI
Sales, support and marketing for Klacks are handled by AI assistants. They research, answer questions based on the documentation and draft texts. What an AI writes is labeled as such.
What the founder decides himself
- Prices, offers, contracts and invoices
- Every publication in the name of Klacks
- Complaints, data loss and security incidents
- Questions about labor law, pay and supplements in a specific case
No AI makes commitments in the name of Klacks. The founder personally handles inquiries in German, French and English; AI assistants handle the other languages.
Klacks is built to last
You have to be able to rely on scheduling software for years. That is why we are building a community that carries on the further development of Klacks, as with Redmine.

The code is open
The complete source code is on GitHub under the AGPL-3.0. Anyone may continue to develop and support Klacks.
Your data stays with you
The installation and the database run in your business. The data is stored in PostgreSQL, an open database; with standard tools you can reach all your data at any time, even without Klacks. A complete data export is planned for version 1.1.
Klacks keeps running
If no new version is released, your installation keeps working with the last version installed.
