ERO minimum wage, night allowance and PSA standards
ERO minimum wage since July 2025
The Employment Regulation Order of the Security Industry Joint Labour Committee (S.I. No. 326/2025) raised the minimum wage on 22 July 2025 from €14.50 to €15.41 per hour.
€20 night allowance since 2026
Since 1 January 2026, an allowance of €20.00 per night shift applies — hard to calculate correctly by hand across many sites and changing shifts.
PSA licence & standards inspection
As part of the Licensing Standards, PSA auditors check whether ERO employment conditions are being met — non-compliance can lead to findings in the licensing process.

ERO rates stay in payroll

Klacks reports the night shifts per employee. Your payroll applies the allowance of €20.00 per night shift since 1 January 2026 — Klacks does not calculate any monetary amounts.

Uniform nationwide, split at the border
The Republic of Ireland has no public holidays at county or municipal level: all statutory holidays apply uniformly nationwide under the Organisation of Working Time Act 1997. For businesses with ties to Northern Ireland, though, what applies across the border still matters — a completely separate holiday regime is in force there.

Northern Ireland, as part of the United Kingdom, has an entirely separate regime.
- Combining the Republic and Northern IrelandA business in the border region — say, in Dundalk (County Louth) or Letterkenny (County Donegal) — or with locations in Dublin and Belfast keeps both calendars side by side: St. Brigid's Day (the first Monday in February) and the June bank holiday in the Republic, Orangemen's Day (12 July) in Northern Ireland.

It all comes down to the settings
Klacks offers countless ways to calculate rules and hour credits for nights, weekends, public holidays and overtime — exactly the way your contracts and company agreements require.
- Nights and weekends You set the night window and the surcharge rates yourself, and choose up to three weekend days — as a multiplier that is added to the hours worked as a time credit in hours.
- Public holidays and overtime A separate public-holiday rate, and overtime per day or per week in up to three tiers. When several surcharges fall on the same hour, the highest one applies — or all of them add up.
- Your own calculation with a macro If that is not enough, a macro does the maths: a short script using weekday, time of day, public holidays and contract values — with conditions, loops and functions of your own.
- Scheduling rules Rest periods, maximum daily and weekly hours, consecutive working days, free Sundays or hour caps per period — each one as a warning or, in automatic planning, as a block.
